Our Father in heaven,
we adore Your name and we praise Your name.
We are gathered here this morning to praise You, to worship You, and to thank You for allowing us to begin our week in worship.
Please help us to be a people who listen to the Word of God rightly.
It is for this reason that You have guided us here this morning.
And I pray that You would correct us in every area of our lives.
We praise Your name for everything You have given us.
And we trust You.
We trust the Word of God, which gives us rest and reveals the true meaning of our lives.
You are the only God whom we adore and in whom we place our trust.
I pray this morning that through the Word of God, through our praise, prayers, and even through the fellowship we will have at lunchtime,
You would help us to worship You with all our hearts and minds.
Please encourage us as we go out into the world.
Yesterday, we had a wedding ceremony, and we are truly joyful that it was a great success.
Many non-Christians were present, along with Christians, and we are thankful to You for giving us this opportunity.
I pray that You will help them as they begin a new life, putting the Word of God before them and praising the Lord together as husband and wife.
Help them to become people of God, people who live to share the gospel.
May they bear fruit in every area of their lives.
Today is Mother’s Day, and I pray that You will bless all the mothers.
We are always learning from the way they serve the Lord in the church,
and their faithful service brings great blessings to all of us.
Help them to encounter You, God, and to grow closer to Jesus as they serve.
There are also those among us who are experiencing weakness in themselves or in their family members.
I pray that You will restore their strength and grant them health.
In their weakness, may they come to know Your love and mercy,
and may this be a time for them to experience Your presence in their lives.
Today, I pray that You will give us Your Word—
a word that encourages us and gives us strength.
I pray that You will drive out every power of the evil spirit from this place.
Protect us, Lord, and help us to listen to You with good and humble hearts.
Cover us with the spirit of dedication as we worship You.
We are looking forward to hearing what You have to say to us today.
I may not be enough—I may not be worthy to preach from the Word of God—
but I pray that You will fill in my shortcomings and weaknesses.
Please use me despite my limitations.
In Jesus’ name we pray,
Amen.
